For most horse lovers, the thought of having your own horse farm is a dream. A small barn, a paddock for turnout, and an arena in which to ride would make most of us quite happy.
Then again, so would the horse farms featured below. These horse farms have multiple barns, some of which have historic stone structures or chandelier lighting in every stall. The arenas on these farms tend to be Olympic-sized, with jump courses like you’d see at the biggest Grand Prix. These horse farms are absolutely spectacular.
4 Rockin’ G Ranch
Boulder, Colorado
The first of two amazing horse farms located near Boulder, Colorado, the incredible 4 Rockin’ G Ranch is a $16 million property boasting 144 acres of gently rolling foothills. The ranch has been described as a “premium working ranch,” and is perfect for the active equestrian family. A 12-stall barn houses the horses in luxury. Riding can be done year-round in the Olympic-sized indoor arena.
Ashford Stud
Versailles, Kentucky
Versailles is one of the small horse towns surrounding Lexington, Kentucky, and it’s full of spectacular horse farms. However, few of them are as incredibly picturesque as Ashford Stud. The official home of Coolmore in America, Ashford is comprised of 465 acres. It boasts gently rolling hills of bluegrass, miles of perfectly preserved fencing, and stone barns resembling those often seen in Ireland’s own horse country. Today, Ashford is home to some of the best Thoroughbred stallions in the world, including Triple Crown winners American Pharoah (pictured) and Justify.
Ashlawn Ranch
Boulder, Colorado
Ashlawn Ranch is yet another of the 25 most spectacular horse farms in America located in Boulder, Colorado. Valued at more than $24 million, the sophisticated Ashlawn consists of 117 acres and stunning views of nearby Haystack Mountain. The main house is massive. It includes such unique features as:
- an outdoor swimming pool and entertainment space
- home cinema
- even a flight simulator
Multiple barns and stable rows exist a short walk from the main house. There is even a full-sized polo field!
Berman Buckskin Ranch
Telluride, Colorado
Valued at approximately $45 million, Berman Buckskin Ranch in Telluride, Colorado boasts roughly 1,400 acres. The property’s focal point consists of a massive private residence and barn, both of which have been constructed with the same dark wood exterior. It’s surrounded by meadowland and trout ponds. Stunning views of the Rocky Mountains are available from just about anywhere one happens to be working. The 32,000 square foot barn is simply amazing, and includes 21 large stalls plus its own on-site veterinary facilities.
Calumet Farm
Lexington, Kentucky
Lexington, Kentucky is the place to see some of the most beautiful horse farms in the world. However, none is as instantly recognizable as Calumet Farm. Located near historic Keeneland Racecourse, Calumet is well known for its famous white barns with candy apple-red trim. Myriad of these iconic barns exist over the massive property, housing stallions and other breeding stock. Horses graze in lush paddocks ringed by pristine white fencing. Calumet Farm is officially closed to the public. However, those interested in viewing its incredible equine graveyard — bearing some of the most famous names in horse racing history — and maybe a barn or two can do so via a horse farm tour.
Claiborne Farm
Paris, Kentucky
Claiborne Farm is steeped in horse racing history and that alone makes it one of the most spectacular horse farms in America. Located among the gently rolling bluegrass hills of Paris, Kentucky, Claiborne Farm is the place of internment of Secretariat, arguably the greatest racehorse of all time. The Farm has bred and raised 10 Kentucky Derby winners, making it one of the most successful establishments in America. Of course, Claiborne Farm is stunning too. Indeed, guests may be too busy taking in the paddocks, sleek black fencing, and historic brick barns to remember to look at the famous horses.
Discovery Manor
New York
Discovery Manor is situated within easy access to Saratoga, Belmont Park, Pimlico, and other Northeast racetracks. It’s a spectacular horse farm dedicated to the breeding, training, and racing of Thoroughbreds. The 25,000-square foot home includes such features as:
- a 24-seat formal dining room
- gourmet kitchen
- conservatory
- 12-seat movie theater
- 3,500-bottle wine cellar and tasting room
As impressive as all of that is, Discovery Manor’s 160-acres of premiere equestrian paradise is even more so. The farm’s barn is a one-of-a-kind, Amish-built design, complete with 24 oversized stalls, a massive tack room, and a specially equipped foaling center. All of this is watched over by the barn manager in his loft apartment. An exercise ring and myriad paddocks round out this incredible horse farm.
Galaxie Farm
Stahlstown, Pennsylvania
Galaxie Farm isn’t your average fieldstone farmhouse. This massive and spectacular horse farm, located within an hour’s drive of Pittsburgh, revolves around its impressive equine facilities. A 15-stall barn, complete with two wash bays, a tack room, and an office, takes center stage. These are followed closely by a slew of paddocks and pastures, a caretaker’s residence, and even dog kennels for the farm’s hounds. The main residence, constructed in 2002, includes a library, three-season porch, and wine cellar with tasting room.
Hummingbird Nest Ranch
Simi Valley, California
Nestled on 123 acres of Southern California hill country, Hummingbird Nest Ranch is a spectacular horse farm valued at nearly $50 million. The ranch has plenty of room for horses. Two Mediterranean-style barns sit within easy access of paddocks and three Grand Prix-sized equestrian arenas specially designed for various disciplines. And if the horse owners are worried about taking care of their equine family, well, there are six guest houses and 10 staff houses on the property to house any helpers. Hummingbird Nest Ranch’s main residents can reside in The Sitting Bull Cottage, a 3,000-square foot house with a professional kitchen, multiple dining rooms, and Spanish-style decor throughout.
Martha Stewart’s Horse Farm

Martha Stewart’s spectacular horse farm in Bedford, New York is as aesthetically pleasing as one might expect from the queen of all things style. You may recognize Mill Hill Farm from the movies. Indeed, this horse farm is so amazing, it was used as a filming location for Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Everything about this massive property located on Long Island is designed for comfort and relaxation. There’s a traditional looking barn with an exterior that matches that of the house, multiple grass turnout paddocks for horses, and an Olympic-sized arena for riding. The farm’s value? A cool $4 million.
Padua Stables
Ocala, Florida
Kentucky isn’t the only place with stunning farms dedicated to horse racing. One of Ocala, Florida’s many impressive farms is Padua Stables. The Thoroughbred breeding and training farm is valued at nearly $18 million. This carefully manicured property includes state-of-the-art versions of the typical horse farm features:

Cornwall, Connecticut
No expense was spared when building Pinnacle Farm in Litchfield County, Connecticut, and the result is absolutely incredible. Valued at more than $23 million, Pinnacle Farm features one of the most beautiful barns to make our list of incredible horse farms. Designed and constructed by Loddon of England, the barn consists of more than 50 stalls sized 16′ by 16′ each with a large outdoor space for the horses to enjoy. Additionally, the three-story barn includes:
- a full apartment in which a stable manager can live
- an executive office
- a full kitchen
- a farrier shop
- a feed room with walk-in cooler
- full heating and air conditioning
There’s also a ton of room for turnout, with lots of pastures equipped with 4-panel oak fencing, French drainage systems, and heated waterers.
Rallywood Farm
The Plains, Virginia
The Plains, Virginia is big-time horse country full of beautiful horse farms. Few, however, are as stunning as Rallywood Farm. The farm’s centerpiece is a massive stable noted for its brick-paved aisle, detailed iron stalls, and multiple chandeliers. Of course, the most unique feature is almost certainly the dining arrangements, which are done so that Rallywood’s owners and guests can dine among their beautiful horses. If that’s not spectacular, we don’t know what is.
Rancho Paseana
Rancho Santa Fe, California
Many of the country’s most incredible horse farms are owned by well-known names, including Rancho Paseana in Rancho Sante Fe, California. This spectacular horse farm was once owned by Jenny Craig, but has since been purchased by Bill Gates for around $18 million. The farm consists of 228 acres and stunning views of the ocean nearby. A 3/4-mile training racetrack originally existed on-site. Gates has since converted the track area to suit his daughter’s interest in showjumping. There are also five barns totaling 141 stalls.
Rancho San Carlos
Montecito, California
Despite the fact it was owned by the same family for nearly 80 years, the amazing horse farm Rancho San Carlos in Montecito was recently listed for sale for a mere $125 million. The lucky new owners received a total of 237 acres of prime California coastline, about 100 acres of which consist of avocado, lemon, lime, and orange orchards. Two barns are on the property, including one round-shaped 10-stall barn that is one-of-a-kind in just about every way. Rides can be taken on trails meandering throughout the property, or in the 11,250 square foot covered arena. Rancho San Carlos also consists of a main house that was designed in 1929 by the famous architect Reginald Johnson.
Red Horse Farm
Hanson, Massachusetts
Red Horse Farm is a spectacular horse farm that fully captures the charm of Cape Cod. First, Red Horse is located a short ride away from Mashpee Town Beach and South Cape Beach State Park. If riding your horse to one of Cape Cod’s prime beaches isn’t your thing, you can stay on the property, which is a state-of-the art facility. The farm features:

- a full automatic watering system
- myriad paddocks
- grooming stalls an indoor arena with skylights for year-round enjoyment.
Southern Whitetail Ranch
Waxahachie, Texas
Southern Whitetail Ranch is 500 stunning acres of secluded bluffs, gently rolling hills, and lapping creeks. Though located less than an hour’s drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, this spectacular horse farm is a private paradise. The ranch’s main house is 8,000 square feet of rustic luxury. Sterling Pointe Farm is one of the only horse farms on our list that’s open to the public for boarding, training, and lessons. Walk into the main barn and you’ll be greeted by 47 stunning wood paneled box stalls and even chandeliers. Continue walking to find:

- a 200×80 indoor arena complete with heated viewing rooms and a clubhouse
